There are many types of fabric suitable for cross stitch. Here is a brief summary of the fabrics that we carry.

• Aida fabric is 100% cotton. It is easy to care for and easy to stitch on. It is probably the easiest fabric for beginners. Many people like it for its wide range of colors and counts, the ease with which you can see the "holes" in the fabric and the fact that it does not ravel as easily as some of the evenweave fabrics.
• Belfast Linen is a 32 count*, 100% linen fabric. Belfast is available in a wide range of colors and is generally stitched over two threads*. Many people who prefer to stitch on linen substitute Belfast linen for 16 count Aida.
• Cashel Linen is a 28 count*, 100% linen fabric. This fabric is also available in a wide range of colors and is generally stitched over two* threads. This fabric can be substituted for 14 count Aida when stitched over two threads.
• Hardanger is a 22 count 100% cotton fabric. This fabric is from Wichelt Imports.
• Jobelan is cotton/Rayon Modal evenweave blend. 51% cotton/49% Rayon Modal. It is available in a good range of colors in 25 count and 32 count. There is a great range of colors in 28 count and 20 count Jobelan is available in White and Ivory.
• Lugana is another evenweave blend. 52% cotton and 48% viscose. Lugana is easy to work with and easy to care for. There is a wide range of colors available in 25 count and 28 count. Thirty two count Lugana is available in a few colors.

Other fabrics available that we can order for you are:

• Heatherfield - 100% Polyacrylic evenweave fabric. You may have seen this fabric specified on some Shepherd's Bush designs.
• Jazlyn is another evenweave blend in 52% cotton and 48% Rayon. This fabric is very similar to Lugana but only available in 28 count and in a more limited range of colors.
